Fireheart - Devlog #2

Hello everyone!

This is my second Devlog for the game Fireheart.

I would like to thank everyone who shows interest in the development of this game.
I am glad that people like what they see so far and I hope that more people will show interest to join this small but growing community.
Would you call it community? Fanbase? I don't know but a thank you to everyone.

So how was the Development this week?

I would say it went alright. I had some other things to do this week and chose to take a step back and watch some gameplay and play a few games.
Now you might think that this has not anything to do with development, right?
Well, it has something to do with it, I was watching and playing to see how other developers made their games.
I was trying to get into their heads and ask myself why they would implement certain mechanics, items, environments in they way they did.
While I did it before and will continue to do this, I wanted to make a small special mention of it.
So you can see a bit how I work and how others probably work.

Anyway,

I started playing with some particle effects! The thing is, I think it is easier to make more realistic particle effects than it is to make stylized/cartoony ones.
I am working on an effect where clouds appear when a building is built.
Here is what I have so far:

I might want to stick to this particle style, however I feel like this still needs work and this might just be a placeholder.
I am also trying to make some flame particles, but I think this needs more work, maybe I show something next week!

I also implemented heavy attacks! I want every weapon with its moveset to have a heavy attack. Deal more damage but consume more stamina and they attacks are slower.
It adds a bit more depth to the combat!

I believe this is it for the devlog!
